1977-1983
After the Ramones truck was stolen in late 1977, new Super Lead amps were purchased. The styling of these amps is shown above, and these amps had slightly more gain than the previous amps. The difference can clearly be heard in both live recordings and on Road to Ruin. It should be noted that while by this time Marshall master volume amps were widely available, the Ramones contined to use the super lead which does not have a master volume. To get this amp to distort, you have to turn it up!
